“. . . almost everything – all external
expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure – these
things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly
important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know
to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are
already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.”
trying to remember to continue using this brilliant bit of wisdom as inspiration to guide my steps. humble genius.
"Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers,
the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things
differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree
with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is
ignore them because they change things... they push the human race
forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius,
because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the
world, are the ones who do."
amazing that one man truly did change our world so enormously. he was once quoted as saying all he wanted was to make a "ding" in the universe.
quite a ding, eh?
